Benefits of a Chemical Peel:
Peels improve the skin’s color, clarity, tone and texture, stimulating new collagen and healthy skin cell growth, resulting in a radiant complexion. They will also reduce discoloration caused by sun damage, clear up breakouts and improve acne scars. It increases hydration and smooths fine lines and wrinkles.
Peels also enable skincare products used at home to be more effective, because a peel can remove several layers of skin build-up and congestion, allowing products to penetrate deeper into the skin. For long-term results, we recommend a series of three or more chemical peels, spaced four to six weeks apart. Receiving a series of peels will target the deeper layers of the epidermis, giving your skin an enhanced exfoliation. However, a considerable change in appearance can be achieved after only one treatment.
Precautions:
If you have herpes virus, which causes cold sores in the past, you may need to take an antiviral medication before your procedure. Also peels will remove layers of the skin and if sufficient precautions aren’t taken such as avoiding the sun, wearing a hat and not using sunblock can result in sun damage. Therefore, your skin must be regularly covered with sunscreen.
